Vaisakhi marks the first day of the month of New Year in the Sikh Calendar and is traditionally celebrated annually on April 13th. It is also celebrated by people from the Hindu community. It is a way of honoring the Khalsa Panth of the warriors under Guru Gobind Singh. The Khalsa Panth was formed in the year 1699.
