We prepare and encourage students to take part in various Bhangra and Gidha competition in North America such as, In 2014,2015 our two teams participated in competition (Elite Bhangra), Bhangra idols and achieved special honor Award .

Our Story

Young Bhangra was established with a dream to help one and all connect with the roots of Punjabi culture. Believe us! Dreams do the MAGIC, and now here we are, as Calgary’s first official bhangra club, teaching the art of folk to hundreds of students. We offer classes to learn the Bhangra, Gidha, Malwai Giddha, and Dhol. We also offer Bhangra workouts for women & Men.

Why Young Bhangra?

We focus on Excellent Techniques

Technique is the foundation for all dance movements. Technique is an essential part of Bhangra as well. Used often to perfect the complex steps and actions. Our coaches are specially focused on correct stance or posture of each and every student and also give them simple feedback on how they can improve themselves.

Everyone is Included

Whether you are new to Bhangra or Giddha or fully experienced there is a place for you in our Club. We welcome people from different age groups, communities, cultures and we will always accommodate everyone to our best of abilities.

Creativity

Creative expressions is encouraged in all our classes and all students are invited to take part in the creation on new bhangra moves, steps, formations. Bhangra involves many facial expressions, which makes this dance more appealing to watch.

Variety of Classes

We teach our students about our culture. We offer Bhangra, Gidha, Dhol, Turban tying lesson and many other courses. We provide separate classes for different age group.

Performance Group

We also has performance groups of both boys and girls (selected students), who take part in events, shows, competitions, etc ( in and out of Calgary ).

Private Lessons

Young Bhangra offers private lessons for married couples, solo performances and group performances for birthday parties, weddings and family functions.

Class Structure

Kids, Teens & Adults :

Classes are 1 hour long and there are 8 classes in a month. Included There is no extra fees for Classes such as Gidda, punjabi class, Turban tying class.

Summer Bhangra Camp

Since 2016, we started summer bhangra camp in which we provide 3 classes per week during summer break in school for new students with special fees package.
